THE HIGHEST WINDOW OF THE TALLEST TOWER

"""I stumbled up the last flight of stairs leading into the last room. Gasping for breath, I leant on the windowsill. A way above me, wreathed in cloud, was another tower. I tried to imagine what possible passage might lead into it below, but up here it was serene and unchallenged. Its brass spire showed a globe with interlocking rings, topped with a weather vane; it glinted in the early noon sunshine, puncturing the vast sky dome. The room I was stood in was stuffy, and had the sun streaming in at an angle. I longed to reach out to the other tower, to drift around its angles in the still air. But in a moment, it was gone; the clouds swelled in a gust and covered my eyes with cotton candy, and the room fell into diffuse shadow. As I descended the narrow flight away from the attic room, the image of the little room with its little window lingered in my mind, I had promised to meet him there, by the highest window of the highest tower; once more to the depths I went, in search of heights."""

This was super fun to create! Easily one of my favourite works to date and I want to try to write stories to go with some from now on (I hope you liked the story too!).
